I want to get one of those whip antennas really bad. How are they, are they easy to mount, do you need some thick really strong wood such as 5 ply to mount the whip antenna with?

On my previous comp arf planes I have put then through the skin with a 3/4" sq peice of 1/8 ply on the inside, no drama http://shop.desertaircraft.com.au/catalogue/c15/p242

Not sure yet, but I am thinking of mounting the whips off each side of the fuse, so they will be inside the wing when fitted.

very nice! Do you guys know why comp-arf doesnt have all of the carbon fiber reinforcements in the 260 fusealuge? I know they had them in the ones when they just brought out, but not anymore...
Thanks

Good question Tony, mine came without the carbon and after about 6 gallons thru it I began to get a crack in the former ( I think thats what it is called behind and below the canopy). I just glassed it with some epoxy and I hope it will hold. I fly some 3d it but nothing compared the 3d I do with my 2.6 yak.

BE CAREFUL! Make sure you fiberglass the crack very well! Ron Good, had a crack in his comp-arf 202 that he ignored for about 10-20 flights, and then the crack gave up and the entire fusealuge broke in half up in the air. BE CAREFUL. Take your time to reinforce it good. Definitly fiberglass it. mabe w/ carbon fiber cloth. Thats my opinion.
