The guy has already bought the plane - just trying to help him make the best of it. I absolutely agree with you that there are better planes for a 50 cc engine but there is no better engine for this plane, IMHO.

The receiver battery(ies) and receiver go in close to the wing tube. The ignition module and its battery go on either side of the engine box. I will try and take some pics and post them later.

I would appreciate it, Billa, also, so you think I will have to redo the covering to align the cowl, I really dont want to mess up the covering.

Does anyone have any pics, that can help me in setting up the engine, I'm going to purchase the DA50, and as previously mentioned by Billa, I may have to redo some of the mono of the front of the plane to get it to align since I have the PW scheme. Also, I have bought the powerbox sensor from a fellow FGs member, and the fromeco batteries. SWB servo arms should arrive tomorrow from TBM. Maybe I should do a carbon fiber tail gear, help!!!!! I'm a bit stuck, and dont want to move forward on this build. THanks

Dcoy,
which muffler do you plan on using. The Slim line pitts is quite heavy at around 11 ozs but the engine runs great on this muffler. If you go with the DA stock muffler, you will most likely be cutting up the cowl so that your plane looks like it has undergone root canal treatment - but that muffler is great for power and probably half the weight of a Slimline. If you go with the slimline you may not have to mess with the trim. That said, changing the trim to match an extended cowl position is not difficult at all so do not think of it as a hurdle and do it regardless of the muffler you use. As for the tail gear, it can not possibly be lighter than the stock assembly ( do change the tail wheel though).

Here is the linkage I did using SWB arms on both wings. Its straight at 45 degress with hinge line. Does it look ok to you guys?

Looks pretty good. Only one improvement I can suggest - use a washer between the socket head bolt and the ball link as a safety catch so that if under any circumstances the linkage comes off the ball, it will not be totally free to dangle about and you will still have some control.

Great tip, I will do that, the horn holes were pre-dirlled so I had to go the 45 and straigh at deflection. Would have rather done it straight at center of servo, or parallel with hinge line, but oh well.

I will try to post more pics tonight, I have yet to order the engine, since I'm a bit concerned with the covering and the DA50, since it will not align correctly with the engive cowl. Im currently working on the rudder system, and will use a pull/pull, I plan on installing it tonight. I also purchased the new JR receiver which is really tiny and wieght is half an ounce. I'm also looking for a Carbon fiber landing gear, that should also reduce the weight somewhat.

Billa, can you post a pic of the wholes you had to make on top of the wing to secure the wing tube. I cant believe that I will have these 2 holes on the wing.

I had one of those P.W. W.M. Extra's they fly great I had a Moki 2.10 on mine. Unfortunatly I lost it due to a radio hit (very helpless feeling when that happens.) Just keep the weight down and it will be a heck of a sweet plane.

Hi
I have one of this. Itīs great. Very nice.
I purchase a Zenoah G45. I know itīs very heavy but it cost half than DA50.
Anybody tried this plane and engine ?
I purchase Futaba 3010 servos. 90 oz. Will it be enough ?
dcoy: here are some videos here: http://www.ywengine.com/frame5.htm
you would like to see the 49MB one. Donīt miss it !!.
The YW engine seems very nice but the web page are very outdated... ŋ?

I saw one WM160 electric powered also !! but I donīt remember the link.

I'm also considering the Kroma 50i, since the carb is on the side, maybe it will work better with the covering scheme to align the cowl. Also, if anyone has one of these Kroma 50i, let me know if you like it. Does anyone know what carbon fiber landing gear would fit this airplane. And Im looking for a pilot to put inside the canopy, would like one with a full face helmet, THanks
