The 2006 "Flying Giants" Viewer's Choice Video Contest is ON!

This is your chance to show US, your flying peers, what you can do. Let your creativity run wild. This isn't just about killer flying, but who can make the coolest video too! You've seen the Giants videos, here's your chance to make one of your own! Become a Flying Giants star, and and enjoy all the glamour that comes along with the stardom! You know.. Fame, fortune, endorsement deals, groupies and cool swag!

There is NO ENTRY FEE to be part of the action! This is a viewer's choice contest - you will be judged by our members.
Since we're making the rules, this contest will be different than what you're used to seeing. We've decided to break it down into 4 categories so we don't leave anyone out. Size doesn't matter. It's how you use it! Don't feel intimidated just cause you fly a U-CAN-DO, or a Funtana 40, a 3DX, or whatever. Lets repeat... YOU DON'T NEED TO FLY A 35% or 40% AIRPLANE TO PLAY! If you fly the big stuff, bring it! Heli's are in too! Electric and NITRO BABY!!!

All video submissions must be "Giants Quality". We're not saying our videos are the best out there, but all videos submitted should be over the top, outrageous, spine tingling, unique, and something that our members will enjoy. PERSONALITY, AND HUMOR ARE GREATLY ENCOURAGED! Good music selection and editing is a must. If you need help with editing, please post questions in the forum and we will be glad to help. We recommend Microsoft Movie Maker which is a free download (that's what we use).

Oh yeah, since this is a viewer's choice contest, exhibition of flying skills will only be one part of your overall video. There's no telling what specific quality the winning videos may have. Remember, videos must be filmed after the start date of the contest.


Here are the basic rules of the contest:

Entry requirements:
-First and foremost WE INSIST-BE SAFE! We will not accept any videos containing any flying that puts you or anyone else in harm's way.
-Contestants may enter both Gas, Glow, Electric, and Heli categories if desired.
-Videos must contain an intro title indicating that video is for the Flying Giants 2006 Giants Style Video Contest, credits to cameramen, family members, or whoever is encouraged.
-Video submissions must be "Giants Quality". If you're wondering what we mean, check out the videos page here.
-International Members - Come on in, you are more than welcome to join! International contestants will be responsible for any additional shipping charges associated with winnings.
-Videos must be created after the date the contest begins, and must be made specifically for the 2006 GSVC.
-Any type of plane is eligible. Size doesn't matter. Don't feel intimidated just cause you fly a U-CAN-DO. You will be going head to head with the big boys, and vice versa.
-Any type of electric or nitro heli is welcome. Fly in both classes if you like! If you're a chopper KING show us!!
-NO CHEATING! This is not a sanctioned event, or a democracy. If we think you're pulling a fast one on us, you're out!

Who can enter:
-Any registered FlyingGiants.com Member. Please make sure the information in your profile is accurate with real names.
- If you are under 18 years of age, make sure you have permission from your parents. You cannot enter the contest without parental concent.

Who can't enter:
-Currently sponsored pilots are not eligible to win prizes for which they have any sponsorship. We want this stuff to go to the guys who can really use it.
-FlyingGiants Staff or Administrators need not apply unless for demonstration purposes.

Contest judging:
- Depending on the number of entrants, the winners will be chosen by our members. Each member will vote on multiple videos. Scores will be tallied and the contestant with the most votes wins.

Everything else:
- Contest end date, and deadline dates are TBD- Once you enter your video, you may update and re-submit anytime before one week of the contest end date
- Members can enter any combination of classes
- Anyone can help you edit your video
