I've been crawling around the forums for awhile and finally decided my step into 3D will be with Twisted Hobbies Edge 540. Since I am stepping up from 1C batteries I need to step up my charger/balancer.
What is a good charger/balancer for the recommended batteries (2S-3S 450mah 25C-30C)? Where is a good place to buy? Should I be looking for a charger that I can grow with (I want to eventually move up to larger planes some day). I'm sure I can go to my lhs but I know they aren't always the least expensive. I like to shop around. Also where are the best places to buy batteries? Thanks in advance. Last edited by 3flyguy3; 04-28-2012 at 10:00 AM. Reason: Add a question |

In my opinion. Your batteries would love this charger.

Just beware the Cellpro 4S Gold is Lithium only. The Cellpro Multi4 does all batt types.

Good point Joe!
I think he mentions Li-Po's but, as his only charger I think a multi chemistry charger would be better.

Any other responses? Yes, I'm looking for li-po chargers.
What about batteries? Who's got great deals/good batteries? |

I love my Hitec X4-Eighty. The X4-Plus is great too if you prefer AC/DC. Check them out on towerhobbies.com

Hobbypartz.com has great deals on batteries and much faster shipping and better customer support than hobby(customers-not-so)king.com.

I purchased a HobbyKing Turnigy charger and from day one the screen type or print would turn on and off, I put up with it for approx. one year. I then purchased a Thunder AC6 from HobbyPartz, awesome small charger, never an issue and can be used at the field with a 12v battery or plugged into 110v AC. You need to check this same charger out at Xheli it sells for $5 less and Xheli is also a very reputable dealer who has excellent service and response time to order completion.
The AC6 will work excellently for what you need now, however, for a small additional investment you can get the Thunder AC680 which is an 80 watt charger and allows you a little growth room if you upsize your battery packs. I also have the AC680, purchased it because of the excellent operation of the AC6, it also has never missed a single beat, perfect. My real recommendation is don't go so cheap that you have to replace or upgrade in what you see your needs may be in the next two years. |
