use electrical grommets to put in the holes - you get these little grommets at most big electrical shops

5995's the way to go but i have so many 5645's and 5945's that i must use. i will put four 5955's in the tail.

My servos set up is : 4 5945 on the wings, 2 5955 on the elevator, 2 5945 on the rudder and one 5925 on throttle. I have set all the servos with the hitec programmer. All is perfect. The new SF power expander seems to be a very good product. You are not forced to use the hitec programmer. I am eager to have some feedback on it.

Today I will move the super reg forward, check evrything. I hope to be able to send some pics today.

Ignition and ignition-battery as much forward as possible to help with the balance.
I have changed my 4xAA battery (as pictured) to a heavier subC and still needed about 100gr in the nose for correct CG.

well looking at you guys getting ready make me nervous as i still have not yet finally decided if the engine will be DA100 or 3w 106cs- when i see the weight issues Peter has it swings me more towards the 3w again - but because i have several DA's running well the situation is confusing and i have 1 week before the plane arrives.

Put the wheel pants back on - that'll give you some nose weight!

Seriously though, I didn't know that there would be such a problem balancing the thing - Even with cannister mufflers in the front?

Well, I don't want to start a brand-war but the ZDZ is a very light engine, only 2,2kg.
Compared to the DA 2,6kg and the 3W at 2,8kg. So putting either the DA or 3W up front probably will solve the balancing problem I experienced, (even with the wheelpants on ).
It's not a big thing, a cm or two to get it on the wingtube, but I didn't want to maiden it tailheavy...

I have the two receiver/servo batteries right under the wingtube so moving them forward will of course also help on the CG issue. So, guys, not to worry, it's not that big of a deal, just some planning...

Hello,

For me no balacing issue. I have a da100 with stock muffler. I have put the ignition battery near the engine and the fromeco bat on the wing tube. It's ok I believe.
I add pics of the inside of the plane. The edge is now ready for the maiden , today is the d day. The weather is perfect: the sun is shining, no wind! I am going to the field.........

No, I have the old ZDZ 100.
I have 25 or so flight with the Edge now and it's great... Takes some mixing for straight knife edge but besides that it performs very well.

spaceW, good luck, and more pictures please...

Hello,

Coming back from the field with a latge smile! All went as expected. It was my first giant and I am very impressed! I was able to fly in a small space (as a trainer,) the plane lands as a trainer. The edge flies on tracks! I am very happy!
I now have to get used to the plane but I am very confident. I have made a stall test. I don't have much throw on elevator but the edge didn't stall! no wing rocking. Pleasure expected......
My plane wieghts about 11.6kg ( 25.5 pounds) my power to weight ratio is marvellous with the da 100.

I am very very happy.
Sorry for the pics . A friend of mine has made some nice pics but he should give them to me later.

Just for fun. ( I have already posted it but maybe the maiden was an achievement thanks to my pilot!)
