Sleep, one will be fine for 3D, you may get some fade onhigh speed KE's, or knife edge loops, but you should be ok. I am running two 5955s.

Nice look!
I have to get graphics yet... but I made it a rule to fly the plane a few times before I apply them. After the $900000 graphics job I did to my extra and it died in 30 seconds... I made it a rule! The fuel tank... I have no idea... came with the extra and survived.... its pretty nice though.... real nice filtered clunk as well! Just finishing the programing (for the second time- stupid COPY function!!!!) I hope the weather is good this weekend!

They are great MOTORS for the money, really strong, good customer service. They are cheaper because they still use a cylinder head that is used for other machinery. But the crank and the housing and all is custom milled and balanced. They don't quite match the power of say a DA or a 3W or a ZDZ, but I think they are $595 for a 95cc motor. Some people have said the big singles vibrate... but its very minimal... I think its because the motors are balanced internally very well. Don't get me wrong.. if you have the money for a 100cc twin.. by all means go with that... but I had the motor, and it needed a home!

It should work fine.
it will haul a plane around in the 23 - 27 lb weight. The lighter the better. I'll give a full flight report as soon as I can get some good flights on my PANZL.

OK.. got 7 flights in today.
(I have a picture of the plane sitting on the grass.. no one there to take pictures while I was flying) after 7 flights.. I would rate the FPE 5.8 a 6.5 out of 10 for this plane. It pulls it nicely, but I can tell the difference from my plane to one with a 100cc motor. I think this plane would be AWESOME X 10 with a nice 100cc motor. Also I need to shim the motor 1 washer on the left side.. pulled slightly left on uplines... but no biggie. The PANZL with this motor flys IMAC type stuff pretty nicely... I could get a snap on a vertical line... but it also was slightly limited on the vertical lines... I tried to hover a few times, and it did it... but the pull out was very sluggish... I think to full on 3D this plane a 100 cc motor is the ticket (DUh... like everyone doesn't know this) I was getting 5800 - 5950 with a bolly 26 - 10 , and I got around 5600 with a VESS 27A, but the VESS prop gave it much better vertical. I'll probably fly the rest of the season on the 5.8 and then snag a 100 - 110 cc motor over the winter. The plane it self was AWESOME... took a few clicks of right, and a few of up to get her trimmed, and after that she was smooth. all 7 landings were perfect... the plane slows down great, and is very agile and also rock solid. I know know why JeeUM and TANK said this plane rocks... it really does! So I would say the 5.8 would ROCK a 33% plane, and it works in a 35% plane... I may also sang the ZDZ Super 80... that makes almost 3 hp more than this motor... Hmmmmm... Ok well.. had a nice day of flying... and the PANZL rocks... hope to have many many more flights with it. OH also, I ran 1 HITEC 5995 TG on the rudder and it seemed GREAT... I was doing full throttle KE (pretty high up) and it was solid as heck... I still need to tweek the mix a bit but it was pretty nice. The PANZL looks great in the air, and the color scheme is easy to see and find orentation.... I think JTEC has a great plane here, that is a nice different airframe to bring to the field.

Hey Sleepy,
Plane looks good and sounds like a nice flying report. Now you ought to come over to Pa. here and do some flying this coming weekend with me. I should be free from work from Thur thru the weekend. Let me know.

Glad to hear that you got it up and rocking Sleepy. Was that 95 new on your extra? Might just need to burn some gas because you probably only had about 2 ounces thru it before it met mother earth....
