I came across a new 3W42i at a really good price and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the 42 and any thoughts on how it would power this plane? The motor seems a little on the heavy side but I've never ran one so I'm wondering if it puts out decent power?

Thanks in advance.

Is the field set up hard? Like making sure the top wing is aligned?
Do what I did , This is a Great Planes Ultimate, I ordered it Stripped it , Fixed several spots that were unglued at the factory, and then I recovered it. So tired of seeing the same thing at the field. Yes it is a scale scheme and its powered by a DA 50 and she weighs in at 15 lbs even and man can she hover. Im useing a Xoar 22/10 prop , Cg is right where GP said it should be and I havent had any of the problems that everyone has had . Inverted is the same as rightside up, She flys like a dream.

Ive had two of these planes and to tell you the truth I wouldnt have one that didnt have at least a 50cc engine in it , the 40 class engines are great for just flying it around , but the pull outs are slow and not as quick as with the 50 cc , My first one last year had a DLE 55 on it and this one this year has a DA 50 on it and belive me you can use all the muscle you can get, and for the money its not that much more.

hey, i got one of these sitting in my basement that i had bought to go with a bunch of gear that i already had. i figured i could get it in the air pretty cheap. i was going to use a os 160 fx with futaba 3305 servos. i didn't see anyone here go glow. i do prefer gas but have to much money in other planes. if anything it should be pretty lite with that motor.
