Default Showtime OR Funtana X 100

I'm trying to decide on which plane to get. I will be using a Saito 100. I know it would be better with the Saito 125. But I have a 100. Anybody flying either of these birds with the Saito 100? Will the 100 with a 16X4 prop be able to pull out of a hover. The motor does run strong on 15%.. Will most likely use 30% to help a little on power. If you have some info please pass it along.

i dont think a 100 will do the trick on the x100 but it would be a monster on the showtime with a 16x4

Thanks... Is the Showtime much lighter than the Funtana X.. What I read on horizon made it seem like it might be a pound lighter. But with ARF's you never know. I know the showtime has less wing area.

i beleive it is, and if you dont use the sfg's it will be even lighter. we are looking for 2 to 1 power ratio to do great 3-d. and that combo will do the trick. also with a 100 on the fx-100 you would have to add nose weight, which in my book is a no-no. my moto is if you have to add nose weight then the motor is too small. in my fx-100 i'am using a moki 1.35 and that motor is perfect for that plane, cause the fusealage is soo long

Thanks for the input. I'm still wondering why I have not seen anybody using a pull pull on the Funtana X rudder. It only makes sense. I'd rather do that, then add nose wieght!

Also, I have not seen either plane in person fly. Is the Showtime as good at 3D as the Funtana X. If you have a flight report with a Saito 100. Let me know.

my funtana 100 (and everyone else's probably) will do everything...... my buddies showtime was dissapointing to us, a 100 won't be good power on the funtana even on 30%, i'm running 30 % on my 125 and it's o.k. power, but not crazy power....fwiw

you mean to tell me you have a showtime with a 140 4 stroke and its not doing the job?????????? you might want to send the motor in cause it should pull the firewall right off that plane...

I keep reading to put a big motor on these planes. But when do you draw the line. There's alot more to flying then just hovering. I mean after awhile the wing loading must really suck on some of these planes with big motors. Am I missing something. I do want the plane to hover, but I would also like it to perform good across the board.
