is a 13-8 wood power point prop too much prop for a gms 76 or can i use this prop for sport flyin the plane without burnin up the motor.i run 15%omega fuel.
i know the size is right in the area it has to be but is the pitch too much for it. the motor screams with a 12-6 nylon on it. thnx mv-warbird. |

You cant burn up a motor with a prop that is too big, its alot easier to do damage with a small prop. If it screams with a 12X6 then the 13 might be just right.
Since it has such a great pitch of 8 degrees then you will be flying fast. You probably wont be able to do any hovering or much 3d aerobatix but you will get alot higher miles per gallon. All you have to do is look up the rpm's in the engine manuel, spend $20 on a tachometer and match the rpm's. |

i ran both an APC 13x6 and a top flite wood 13x6. They were my favorite overall props for this engine. For 3D try a 14x4 APC, for a warbird type plane the 13x8 might be good. It shouldn't have much trouble spinning the 13x8; mine could spin a 16x4.
