The poor Extra 300/S/L and Edge 540/540T have been so butchered in our hobby for the sake of better flying characteristics that I find it very refreshing when guys like Wiemo/FMG come out with very scale looking air frames it is just unfortunate that this isn’t done more often from more mfgs
My next airframe is going to be the Weimo 46% Extra 300 but Ive got another surprise for everyone on here next week when my latest toy arrives. |

The baffling he did is standard issue generic baffling for all multi-cylinder aircraft engines. Take a look at a Full-scale aerobat if you get a chance or even a Cessna. He did it right. Notice the bend at the front of the plate where the air will be entering the cowl, This forces the air to enter at an upward angle so that it has to come down over the entire cylinders before exiting through the bottom of the cowl. If that ramp wasn't there, the air would simply flow into the cowl and down through the gaps in the sheeting, and miss most of the cylinder. The reason for the rest of the plate is so that all air entering the cowl has only one means of exiting, and that's through the fins of the cylinders. Trust, I think AJ knows what he's doing and if I saw any slight glitch in the design, it's the lack of extra ramp-up on the right side of the baffle plate to help deflect the downward-spiralling propwash in a more upward flow. The left side gets its air from an upward-moving prop so the air is already flowing toward the top of the cowl.

I got something a little smaller and cooler and it will be the only one flying in the country. Its also a change of pace from my other aerobats that are being built more to come next week.

Badge,
Its also known as sandbagging mate and you will be in big trouble at next years Nall unless you let us at least have a sniff of the surprise. Man I hate it when someone says they have something really cool to show you but leave you hanging out to dry like a wet sheet. JK mate. Hope the big brown truck rolls up soon so we can all see it.
