That would be most appreciated Craig! I've been on the fence for a long time about buying a Krill, the lack of directions and lack of "perceived" support has kept me from buying one or two. I'm done with covered arfs. A well done instructional video might save me a thousand bucks so I don't have to have someone else build it for me.

I also know many pilots in different fields that I go to, who want to try Krill but they are scared of the build process. I think a thorough build video from unboxing to maiden would encourage a lot people like myself to take this step and order this plane.

Assembly part of plane I don't have any problems. Info I would like to see come with the plane would be turnbuckle lengths, engine thrust, distance from firewall to front of cowl, best way to secure center hinge pins etc.. I have found some of the info I need on these forums but I'd rather see it come with planes. Composite is new territory for me guess just like some reassurance..

I guys, these are very interesting views. I guess I take it for granted that these are easy to assemble to me and don't take the complete composite novice in mind. I will gather as much info as I can and see if we can't do a build manual including some basic composite building techniques.

If you need to glue in something to your composite airframe, you need to scuff the general area, and then wipe it down with denatured alcohol.

Any one have pics of how to mount the wheel pants, and what cuts need to be made?

Thanks,
Jacob

I should have posted that I meant without the pants on. Thank you any ways.

Do you know how long you made the cut to slide the pants over the axle?

Even experienced builders have complained about the lack of instructions/recommendations for completing any Krill airframe. While there are many ways to skin a cat, some are better than others and this SHOULD be addressed by Krill. There have been some pretty good threads on several of the Krill airframes over the years, but who wants to dig through the archives to find information, even most of the Chinese ARFs have builder recommendations. It would be prudent for Krill to publish a complete build sheet and I do think it would help in sales. The kit prices for Krill aircraft is one of the highest of all the ARF's so one would expect nothing short of a top drawer package.

Wheel pant mounting

Here's how I did mine. I added a small hardwood blocks to capture the ends of the axles which helps support the outside of the pants. Since these pics where taken I've drilled and tapped the axles for a 4-40 button head machine screw through the pant.

Another mod was epoxying CF tow around the inside of the wheel cutout. I do this to all my wheel pants and it really helps to keep them from cracking from vibration and flex.
