Let's see what you guys think, I need to get a new 50cc plane for my DA just for 3D flying. I really wanted to wait for the new QQ-yak but I don't know if I can wait until December.

BME and Airwild have good ones. I have the BME Edge and it rocks. The Airwild stuff is actually sub 15 pound, the lightest out there.

If you like the new QQ Yak, what about the current 50cc QQ Yak? I don't think that he has done huge changes to the design....

I'd give the BME Edge 30% a thumbs up too. I have one & love it. Mine has the BME 50cc - not sure of the total plane weight, but it flys nice and light. There's a bunch planes out there that should all do great in the 50cc size.
Here's the build thread I did on it: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=2661 |

I certainly haven't flown very many 50CC planes, but I had the 50cc QQ, and while it was a nice plane, there were a few things I didn't like (foam fuselage, landing gear, weak tail wheel) , and I also found that it didn't fly nearly as well as what I replaced it with (a Great Planes Utimate), and my Hangar 9 Cap 232 (50cc size, but I'm flying it with a Moki 210). It just didn't insipre confidence in me, I was never able to get it stable in a harrier, and it just didn't track very well compared to the Ultimate, or any number of other planes I've flown, like my Hangar 9 Cap 232, or Showtime.
I've also heard very good things about the Double Vision, I can't reccomend the Great Planes Ultimate enough, and the Cap I'm flying is great, it's the older Alitalia version, but I hear the newer one is quite nice as well. |

From all the 50cc planes I have flown, I think the Aero Works 29% Katana flies the best.

I flew a 50CC Aeroworks Yak 54QB last sunday, and I thought it performed well. It felt light in the air, and tracked straight. Landings were a no-brainer.

Nice to see there is such a unanimous decision on what the best plane was.
