um..... right. I think that was a buddy box flight.. Don't wanna be one of those "coulda killed that guy", but damn. I would recommend the buddy box-ie go buy a lotto ticket. Pleeeeeeeeze Keep it safe guys.

My rule of thumb when being a spotter and things get hairy......Follow the pilot! He will rarely hit himself. Notice the spotter went away from the pilot and got nailed. The pilot usually knows which way to run and usually will finally dump the plane before it hits themself. Amazing really, I pilot will often stick it out as the plane goes barrelling throught the pits but if it is going to hit them they dump it. Makes you think about your priorities and the need for a plan BEFORE things go bad.

that link just got sent out to my club, and a few other local clubs, haha, i fly my combat wing really close, but on purpuse,, and in high wind, so its slow mo,, why the heck was he flying from the end of the runway,, must have a odd way to line up for landing ,,,, oh on the subject, i heard of a guy getting the cops called on him cuz he was flying some kinda gas airplane in the subdivions, near people, i dont know what came of it,, oh well, some folks dont think ahead

I know this is an old thread but I was there. The pilot and caller taxied out and one engine died before taking off, so the two of them went out to restart one engine. They took off and made half circle when the engine died again in the air. came in for landing but was still standing at the end of the runway.

Gotta keep it wired tight, and watch each others backs....
We all do stupid crap when we are distracted. Motors screwing up , restarts, sweat, swear words, then...Whew...Ok...then ....OH S#@$%%!!!! Looks like only the pilots pride was hurt. Whew!!!! |

I saw this quite a while back and couldn't figure out for the life of me what these two "guys" were doing on the approach end of the runway. Figured it must be a new southern way of catching the plane on short final to save the grass. Regardless, NOT SMART GUYS!!!!
