Idiots, .... theres no excuse.

You would think anybody who can build and fly an advanced aircraft like that would have more common sense, and good airmanship.

But as they say common sense aint so common.

Looks to me like the pilot and spotter wanted to be behind the plane on take off for better orientation on the initial flight- to better deal with out of trim squirrelly-ness on the take off run.
They just didn't prioritize gettin' the EL' off the damn runway ASAP!

Pilot had his firm brown collected until the spotter pulled him aside and caused the crash.

Looked like it was going to be a salvageable deadstick until the pit bitch decided to grab the pilot and try to pull him- right into what the pilot knew was the path the plane was taking. Didn't look like the plane dipped a wing until the point when the pilot got grabbed.

If I was the pilot I'd have been pissed at the spotter.

Two ??? people. That's what the fence-barrier is for.
Left engine running is going to make a right turn.
Spotter pulling pilot left and the pilot pulling right along with his thumbs, so did the plane.
Engine and thumbs win out for a "right turn Clide".
Lot's of glue and time needed to get it back in the air.
Glad no one was hurt bad.
