This seems a little more realistic.... I was even thinking a couple weeks ago about a 10x but then i would have to change all my R/X's etc... and don't feel like going thru all the trouble. I am currently having a 40% Carden 260 built and that reciever will fit "NICELY" in there....

It's not the tx that ties you to a brand. It's the rest!!
I got 4 319 receivers, couple of FM, and bunch of hitecs. It just is too much hastle to convert over. |

If you are going to buy a $1,500 transmitter chances are another $600 isn't the next four months pay.
I would go for the 14MZ if I didn't already have one. Jon

When you get older and become financially responsible for your household, you will find out things aren't that simple. For example, if you work now and make $500/month part time, I am sure you can have this tx in 3-4months. For the rest of us older people, even $5000/month may translate into tx in 3-4months as mortgage, car payment, cc payment, gas, electricity, phone bill, your kids clothing, food takes priority. Did I miss anything? |

Zac,
Its called what can the market bear. Pricing on high end commodities has nothing to do with how much it costs to make. Normally the biggest cost is in the R & D and I have no doubt Futaba spent millions developing the 2048 system. The radio likely costs $200 to produce, maybe more but not a lot. The actual costs in the R&D, tooling and marketing are where the money goes. Its not why is it expensive, it what it costs. And people will buy it, they have done their homework. The thing that will impact what we pay for it today is competition, either from JR who are being very quiet lately or from another unlikely source. Airtronics for instance. Kiwi |

Anyone know how many channels are actually proportional on this radio? I know rhe 14mz has 12 and my 9Z has 8 so I am wondering about this new one.
