Matt, you may want to run 2 servos per elevator. the airplane comes out nose heavy with a DA 150. I ran no counterbalances on mine and initially had blowback issues using JR 8611A and 1.5" servo arms. I ended up with rhe rudder servos in the tail and still had to put 4 oz in the stab tube for an IMAC CG.

I would use stock mufflers. I had the compacts in mine as the regular mufflers would not fit completly in the cowl. I tried JMB cannisters in my first CA. It was a royal PITA and then I couldn't get them to work well enough.

With the stock gear, wing tube, power expander the AUW was 36 even. you should not have to spend the extra money on getting this airplane any lighter, especially if you plan to run a 157. A Comp ARF 3M Extra canopy is just the ticket for this airplane as the stock one looks like crap.

Shawn
Shawn- If you could do it again, would you mod the stabs and cut in counterbalances? As for the canopy, I'll be calling you on the telephone about that one!! I'm still considering a CF gear and wing tube to save some weight...still pondering the engine thang....I want this thing to be as light as possible!!

For 3D work I would do counterbalances and 2 servos per half. It dosen't really need the power, this would be done to keep the elevators tight and keep them from flexing. imagine trying to do a hard wall and one elevator wants to flex and the result is a 3 degree difference in deflection at the countebalance.

If you need to have a CF gear then let me know when you are ready, The CF gear on my 260 are super stiff, won't delaminate and are 15 oz for the two sides. I can make up a set for the CA using the same process.

Yeah, Ill be giving you a call about that main gear, tail wheel, and canopy/ hatch. Time wise how long do you estimate it took to build?

Mine took about 2 months to build. It takes longer to cover than to build. Lots of sanding involved on all the control surface bevels.

I'm also planing to order a CA Extra 330L 38%, but i still don't know if there would be room enought to fit inside two 3W canister (guessed diameter 75 or 85 mm) for 3W157. Can anyone send a picture about his engine instalation?
