Congrats on your new arrival. It looks stunning.

I have one on order. It arrived in country monday. So I should have it next week.

I better tell my rep to check the tail wheel. He also mentioned that they were working on instruction manual right now. so hopefully it will be ready in about 2 weeks.

I will be putting a DA100 in mine with BMB cans.

You going to go dual servos on ailerons ? I will probably go HItec 5955 Titaniums all round with 2 for each aileron. 2 for rudder and one for each elevator half.

Regards
Chris

You will sure be happy with it , i will use 5955 one on each aileron elevator and rudder i want to keep the weight down and crisp light wing tips. i found out i also is missing the spinner. forgot about it also should be in the box.

i have installed the carbon gear its longer then previous models so no mounting problems here, i have made the control throw larger than from the factory so i get 50+ degrees throw.

heres som pictures of the elevator , gear and cowl alignment.

Uhhh . . . . . . .says WHO????? Composite-Arf? The same people that advertise the 2.6m 330 at 23 lbs, and the majority come in at 26-27? The same people who say the 3m Extra comes in at 34 yet it closer to 39-41?

Improved Flying Characteristics?? It's a 330L with a shorter canopy, sorry to be blunt about it. Same wing, and stab locations, same aerobalancers on the tail surfaces, same moments and contours, just a slightly shorter canopy. Any changes in flying characteristics will be seen in mixing and how well your thumbs work.

I know, Chief. A lot of people believe the hype that ARF manufacturers put out, as if it was chiselled in stone. Truth be known, unless you work very hard at keeping a C-Arf light, they come out heavier than expected very quickly.

I am glad, however, that they got rid of the blade spar setup, and went with the lighter tube socket. The plane is a good flyer, once the mixes are setup properly. I'll be getting my own 2.6m Extra back into the air as soon as I get the time. They are a lot of fun to fly.

I've got one on the way. Supposed to arrive in USA next week. I can't wait to get it. Post any pics you can and any tips on assembly that are out of the ordinary. I believe you said there was no instruction manual. Will the manual for the regular 2.6 Extra work for most of the assembly?

There was no manual , and i think most of the 330L manual can be used, just recheck before you go , well this aircraft ís so easy to assembly that i dont need a manual.

I have sanded down the ving roots so they fit flush with the fueselage the same thing done with the stabs. after that i have drilled the holes and threated the tube and countersunc for the bolt heads holding the stabs together.

It's sure looking good, Ch!eF. Sure makes the days do by slow waiting for a bird. I'm still hopefull it will be here next week.

I'm going to use a servo tray, too so extending the servo area is a good idea.

I just got notice from Comp-Arf that my 2.6m Extra, Patty Wagstaff has shipped from Reno, Nevada and will be delivered to me on Friday. Guess I know what I will be doing this weekend!
