Well...my Extra showed up today...All I can say is...WOW!! Nice workmanship!!
Well packed and Came through without a scratch. Unfortunatley no cuffs, spinner, tailwheel, Signed Biography or manual as advertized. Hopefully that will get resolved. She's getting a DA100, Smartfly Power Expander, Super Reg, and Fromecos for power. Not sure if I will go with Cans or Compact Mufflers...Got all winter to think about it. Got mine today, too. Beautiful plane.
I also had no spinner, tail wheel, landing gear cuffs or instruction manual. You would think a $1600 airplane would at least have something that gives the critical dimensions, such as the holes for mounting the LG. The cowl is significantly different than the old 2.6m Extras that a little help here would have been appreciated.Hose A |

Well Joe, Looks like we might be "Pioneers". I'll be sure to share anything I find out while getting this baby ready for Huckin'
Comp-arf has a good reputation...I'm sure these issues will get resolved quickly. This is my first CA build so I'm not sure what you mean by "significantly Different Cowls" |

The cowl for the 300SX is a two piece cowl. All the other 2.6m Extras had a one-piece cowl. Probably no big deal, but a few pics and placement locations for the screws would be helpfull.
My sales rep had told me the spinner and tail wheel would be shipping separately, but I don't believe he knew anything about the LG cuffs or instruction book being missing. He's a good guy and I am confident he will chase it down for us. Hose A |

I forgot about the signed biography by Patty Wagstaff. I didn't get one of those either.

Mine had landing gear cuffs and signed biography in it, but no manual. Spinner or tailwheel.
My cowel on the 300sx is one piece so not sure what you mean by a 2 piece cowel. How is your landign gear ? Hopefully in better shape than mine was. There is a fair bit more prefab done on the 300sx that with standard 2.6 extra. We dont have to do canopy hold downs or wing bolt ply reinforcement. Landing gear mount is factory installed. Best Regards Chris |

The 300SX cowl has a horizontal seam, but doesn't actually seperate. It is technically a one piece affair.

You are right, Larry. The cowl is one-piece. I had not removed the shipping bubble wrap and, for some reason, thought I had read on the Comp-Arf web page that the cowl was in two halves, top and bottom for easy removal without having to remove the spinner and prop. I guess I was thinking about the 3m Extra or the 3.1m. Their cowls are two pieces. Rats!

Comp ARF came thorugh with the goods. My local rep Ian Howard has overnight posted a new set of landing gear to me. Word from the factory was they would have been fine but reccomended replacing them "for the customers piece of mind".
Damn fine service! Best Regards Chris Venter |

Hey Chris,
I've been meaning to ask you since you fly helis in the Melbourne area, do you know Don Dennis? I sold my JetCopter to Don a couple of years ago. He seems like a very fine person. Has anyone heard from Comp-Arf when we might expect our spinners, tailwheels, etc? Hose A |
