My rep has no updates from Comp Arf on a date. I emailed Comp ARF directly and asked them for an update and was told to ask my rep.
So we are in the dark. I will finish my plane in about 2 weeks and wont be able to fly it without a tail wheel. I dont want to have to buy a tail wheel and spinner in order to fly it before the factory parts get shipped. Best Regards Chris |

My Sales Rep called today, and like stated earlier in the thread, there's a shortage of backplates which delayed some items from being shipped along with the kits. They are aware of the shortage and I should have the missing items in a week or 2.
Chief....I am going with a DA 100...But, I know an Evo Rep and he's trying to talk me into one of their 80 cc's |

Here we go. Couple of pics of DA100 Install.
Main measurement you need to worry about is spacing from firewall to clear cowel. Mine needed 26mm which gives about 2 - 3 mm clearance of spinner at closest point. To get 26mm spaceing I used a washer, and thick 5mm steel spacer from bolt shop and then some delrin/hard nylon tubing drilled out for the 2inch x 1/4 inch bolts. I used this setup purely becuase I had the bits lying about the house. Some machined standoffs would be lighter. Finding spot on fire wall is very easy if you use a ladder. Put model up vertical resting on foam that rudder came packed with. Use soome bubble wrap under fuse and tie fuse to ladder. i used a silk neck tie. Then lay motor with spacing on firewall and place cowel over it. Install about 4 of the cowel bolts then lay a spinner backplate over motor and just move engien around till it lines up with curve in middle of cowel. Thats its. take cowel off carefull not to disturb engine. mark engine spot. drill one hole. Install blind nut or T nut and tighten engine up agin with just one bolt. Now put cowel on again. Move engine around till you are sure its right. off with cowel. Now use a very long 1/4 Inch drill and drill hole opposite (cati corner) to one in place. Install t-nut and bolt. Now drill out last 2 holes. Pic of wing servo tray is to show the JR side mounts. These make life nice and easy with no messing about making up servo boxes. very nice looking, do you have a link to those servo mounts. are they strong enough for that 5955.
i am also going for the 3w106cs it looks like it is fitting without much spacing with the new shorter engine dome. Last edited by Ch!eF; 10-21-2006 at 04:37 PM. |

JR make those servo trays and they are strong enough for the servos part no.07-04. Any hobby shop who stock JR gear should have them. Damo

That 5955 was on one of the 2 x aileron wing mounts, not throttle. I have a JRDS511 for throttle.

Chris,
I would recomed that you use a allen head screw on your servos. Once you put some loctite on the standard phillips heads you will find there are very difficult to remove. You can get them at www.mircofasteners.com 2.6mm x 8mm.
