Jake:
If you'd like to email me (tom@wildharerc.com) or call me at 817-430-0107 I'll be happy to talk to you about Wild Hare planes and all the other stuff you need. We have several great 50cc planes at low prices, too much to discuss online. You would be my youngest pilot, but not by much, there is a 10 year old boy who flies our planes. I'm sure he'd be 10 by the time he got all the money saved up from walking the neighbor's dogs and mowing their yards!!! LOL!
Your age is not a real issue, It's your flying ability, your eagerness to learn, and whether or not you have the proper guidence (a father that has been flying for some time or experienced flyers at the field that are willing to help you out). Becaus you say you are still flying a trainer, I have to question your flying ability, not because I don't believe you, but because I am wondering if you are still learning how to fly or if you are flying that thing like no one's business, but haven't moved up in size/performance because of money issues (I was young once too, which is why I know this). If you are still learning to fly then I would highly advise that you not go to a 50cc plane, but I'm not your father or your club safety officer, LOL!

bro this is the second time ive seen this in the past month.....dont make the same mistake i did, it will wind up costing you more in the long run. you have a trainer, a second plane, a small .40 3d plane, a 90 sized plane and from there is anyones guess. im a flight instructer and even if you have been flying a trainer for two years, you still dont have the paitence and the knowledge to set-up correctly and fly a 30%. on top of that if you have to pay for it, it will take you a long time to save up 2500-3000. my suggestion would to be, get a cheap profile or a foamy and learn 3d on those!

Easily saved up for, a foamy with all the latest electronics and a couple of Li-Po batteries will cost you about $400...and they'll last quite a while if you take care of them.
The nice thing about foamies is the electronics are what cost the most, the foam plane itself can be replace for only $30 or $40!!! Foam planes have LIGHT wing loading so they fly with a feel that they are much bigger than the really are! They can be flown just about anywhere because they are quiet electrics and don't take up more than a baseball field in space to fly! So you won't have to go to the club field (don't have to hitch a ride!) and you can fly every day of the week if you wanted to. Check out these websites for all your foamy needs: http://www.3dfoamy.com/ great foamy designs and tons of information http://www.hobby-lobby.com/aerobatic.htm check out the Ikarus YAK Shockflier! That should get you started! I don't recommend a glow powered profile plane...you'll have more fun with a foamy and you can fly it anywhere, key for someone who isn't able to drive themselves to the flying field. Also, the foam airframes are so cheap to replace it will take no time to save up for another plane if the one you have gets too ragged from 3D practice...just transfer over the electronics! Good luck and let us know what you get! Send some pictures!

If you went the foamie route.. check this one out. made from the blue foam at lowes or home depot. It took me about 4-5 hours to put together and will do anything you want. plus its almost bulletproof compared to the foamie kits.. plus you will learn alot more in the building process, plans etc..
