Default Winter project

Ok fellas, a buddy of mine hits me with the idea of doing a tandem winter project. I say, "ok, what ya thinking?". He wants to build two F4U Corsair's (which has been the gleam in my eye for twenty plus years), and he wants to build fairly large, around 85" - 90" wingspan. My problem is, I want to do the grim reaper scheme more than likely, and I'm wondering what everyone thinks as far as (1) best kit to build for a decent price, (2) fiberglass fuse or completely built-up, (3) where to find good scale detail information (scheme especially). Any and all input would be appreciated.
