Hey everyone, we are wrapping up our time at eFest as we have a seven hour drive home, but I wanted to make sure we stopped in and got a few last pics, and said good bye to everyone.
If eFest is not on your event radar, I think you may want to add it to your travel plans next year. The entire event is really put on for the pilots. Tons of flying time, several fun events that anyone can enter and a space that is enormous. EFest's venue boasts the following features: the building's temperature is very nice and warm and the semi rubbery floor doesn't take a toll on your feet like a cement floor does; the hospitality of Frank Noll and the entire eFest staff is amazing and ensures that most people come back each year and bring a friend! This year a few things stood out to me, one of which was the scale scene! The small scale rigs that were here bring back memories of building little tissue and stick models when I was a kid. But now add in 30+ years of building experience and affordable micro RC gear, this is an event I will be involved with next year for sure. The Gauntlet was awesome to watch. No so much the flying (which was good) but for watching the pilots and callers run around like maniacs around the course. That was truly priceless. OK. Going to snap a few pictures and start the long ride home. See you guys on the floor, or see you all weekend next year!

Thanks Sleep for the coverage again this year.
Speaking for myself, I had an awesome time again. Seeing so many good friend's and meeting new ones is what this is all about. The pilot prizes came in handy also, especially the CA and kicker! Think I have an entire bottle on the F86, what a blast! Thanks Hobbico, Frank, staff and the ladies working check in! Will B |

It was my second time there but it was the first time participating. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
I really enjoyed all aspects of the weekend. What really stood out to me was the gauntlet. Only one can win the contest but everyone seemed to be a winner. You could tell by all the smiles and laughter by the participants. I think I'll enter it next year. Since this is a team event I'm looking for a young, fast person who can throw my plane through the Square Hoops. LOL. Thanks to everyone responsible for this great event. |

The yellow plane, I think it was a scratch build. It was one of the guys from Horizon. I'll find out!

The airplane is scratch built from my full scale. It's a pretty cool plane but would honestly fly terrible without AS3X because of the small vertical fin and stab it has. Ironically enough the full scale flies great and flies nothing like the model. It weight's 4.5oz rtf. It's powered by a E-flite Park 180 and the AS3X board out of a E-flite UMX Gee-Bee. Same battery system as well. The airplane's wings are sheeted just like the full scale. The cowl is also crafted out of balsa. Other than then red bars painted on the wings, everything else is printed on testors decal sheet and applied. I just scaled the artwork down to size since I had it made for the full scale. Jason |
