Default Starter for a DLE 55

Will the Sullivan dynatron electric starter turn over a DLE 55. Sometimes I just can't hand start motor. A club member has a megatron starter that turns it over easily but that starter is over $229.00.

The specs say it has 340 ozs at 12v and will start up to a 1/4 scale.

Yes, it will...did it for my buddy's DLE 55....had one in the Garage for some Glo planes....hooked it up to a good FULLY Charged 12 volt garden tractor battery, and it turned it over....I would try to get a larger cone for it, for more bite...

Why is it so hard to start?
Is your carb clean?
Is the timing right?
Are the reeds good?
Is the compression good?
If you can get all that stuff good it should start in about 5 flips or less.
You can get all that stuff good for alot less than a starter.

It's a new engine with less than 4 tanks thru it. Seems hard to hand start and have to use a electric starter on it at times.

Should hand start no matter how many tanks through it. Have you tuned the needles? And as above, checked timing and carb?

Check the EME engines thread for an on board starter, its a kewl way to start. How ever I think ya just too lean on the low speed needle or you don't know a proper start sequence. Choke on. Plane fully restraint. throttle wide open WOT. Flip til it starts or pops. Don't worry it will only run briefly and never rev up much with choke fully open. Throttle reduced to slight above idle Important reduce throttle. Choke -off, & 3-5 flips and it should start.
