Looking for an inexpensive 40% airframe (like the 41% Wildhare, 37.5% AM Yak, or the 40% JTEC Extra 300) to go with a DA-150 (though i guess I can get a 3W-157). I am most interested in snap characteristics and low rudder-elevator coupling.
Thanks |

I'm sure I'm way off, but I tend to be a little leary of things like that... I'm sure he's a great guy (never met him), but I'm also sure he didn't pay for the plane, etc... Gotta watch marketing vs. real-world reports.
Anyone else flown the plane that can comment? |

He is flying it at a contest where he could win $50,000 for first place. The top pilots can get whatever plane they want. In turn they choose what they believe that will be the best tool to get that big check. I seriously doubt anyone would fly a p.o.s. just to save $1500 when he stands a chance at winning 50k! IMO. Also IMO that Aeroworks QB planes are the best bang for your dollar right now. QQ is a very close second.

You could actually see how an airplane makes a difference especially at a contest like this. The Wild Hare looked good but it also looked like Bill was the one making it look good. You had to be there to really see what I am talking about. The ones that looked like they were flying really well were the 3W planes, QQ's big Yak, the Daltons and the Cardens. The others looked like they were working a little harder with there planes.

The people flying the WH 41% says it flies better than the DA 42% 260, and that is a mouthful.
I have seen it fly and it is sweet, I would want the new wings on it thought.

The 41 % Wild Hare is very impressive. I've only saw one. That baby is sweet for the dough! I will keep it in mind if anything happens to my plane. It's a very quick build! And did I say light? Light!
My philosophy is 10% Plane. 40% Pilot. 50% GAS!

Guys,
Anyone build the Aerowork 39% EDGE,540T. I just received the RTC kit from Aeroworks. Need some advice about the wing joiner. Not happy with using one Machine screw through a hard point on the underside of the wing into the wing tube. Ok wing tube is Aluminum, but my plan is to change it to Carbon, save a bit of weight. Any ideas . Would like to be able to install 2 fasterners on each side from inside the fuzz. Was thinking of maybe installing blind nuts, nut wing is already constructed. Any ideas. Wing is foam core. |
