Well, yes and no.

Thats the latest of the 11x series firmware. There's another update that gives most of the funtionality of the XG-11

Go to Horizon Hobby and bring up the 11X page, then click on the support tab, there's a document that explanins that update. You'll also need a copy of the XG11 manual. The update won't give you DMSS or telemetery but all of the other new functionality.

I want to do the update to get the XG-11 software but I will need to reprogram all my 14 models Some have very complicated setups!

I was very dissapointed that they did not include functionality or AT LEAST a PC tool to convert the old models to the new ones.

Just save them to your SDCard, the copy them back and rebind.

There's just a few things you will need to tweak like the throttle servo setup.

I was under the impression nothing would transfer since the XG software/interface/whatever wasn't compatible.

lol ok then... Can you be more specific as to what transfers or doesn't mixing-wise? I assume you've already done this update?

I am in the same boat and do not want to lose the mixing for my IMAC plane. I'm happy to write things down and do it that way but it would be nice if most items transferred.

I haven't updated mine yet, I know there's an issue where the throttle needs to be setup again because the xg software handles the trim differently.

AWorrest can probably be more specific.

I know for a fact that the models can be loaded from SD card though, that came from Horizon and they acknowleged the video was wrong on that point, but they were making it based on the information they had at the time.

Here you go....

When I upgraded, I found that the data on the SD card would still work with the exceptions the flight mode switches were set to inhibit and had to be re-designated. The stick position switches and timers had to be reprogrammed. They added a throttle trim offset option to the THRO CURVE and it is set to a value that requires the throttle trim to be all the way back for the throttle to reach -100% by pulling the stick back. That can be changed. Overall the version 2 upgrade makes the 11X’s programming like the latest upgraded XG11 programming less telemetry and the DMSS way of handling failsafe.

All,

We are updating the instructions to note that you can indeed reload saved model files. When we made the video and initial instructions JR had told us that they were not compatible with the new software. As with any update or reloading of model data you'll need to re-bind the model and perform a functionality check before making any attempt to fly. With the XG software you'll notice some differences in the naming of the switches and the channels.

As has been stated previously if you're happy with the current programming there is no need to perform the update but there are some nice features in the software you may want to try out. The custom flight modes will allow you to run 6 flight modes in ACRO model type as well as set switch priority.

Thanks,
JD

I originally saved all models from the old prgramming and it did work. However, i did get some memory errors and decided not to use them. Erased and a fresh setup has worked fine.
