I had a 34% Colombo Anderson and that was by far the best flying plane I have ever flown. I used it only for IMAC but it flew like it was on rails and was very slow on the downlines. 27.5 lbs. with DA - 100 and stock mufflers. No smoke.

If you click under my aviatar to view my photos, there are some pics of it there.

Do you mean "porky"? If so, I hear you, but I don't think 25.5 pounds on a 35% is porky.

I still enjoy my Comp-ARF 2.6 Extra. It's a good IMAC plane and can 3D well. Now that I have a 40% dedicated IMAC plane, I'm going to work on getting my Comp-ARF set up for 3D. It does very well with the CG back (I first flew it without a spinner), and with increased control throws it should be a lot of fun as a 3D airplane. More aileron throw = more screech! Also if you're into composites, the Xtreme Composites Edge looks very promising. A friend is building one and the quality is the same as my Extra.

Is the Compy under $998? The white one doesn't count - who's really going to fly a plane all-white?

I know, but unless you have the paint sitting in your garage, you're gonna have to buy it, right??? That pretty much adds directly to the cost of the plane

Nothing a few $3 cans of Krylon can't fix...

Nothing like a Rattle can painted $1000+ plane!!

No but your right, it will add to the cost, but personally I would buy a white one, so i could paint it... nothing says.." not cookie cutter" than a custom painted Comp arf...
I would love to paint one in a really cool eye popping scheme.
BUT....... not in the 1984 sudeo graffiti "fantasy" scheme style .. hahaha.

Gotta agree there! To be honest, with a little creativity, one could actually do a decent paint job with some Krylon, LOL! I don't know - I haven't met a Compy 2.6 (Yak or Extra) owner that didn't like their planes
