Hi,
Can someone tell me the proper way to tie off the rudder pull cable onto the clevis? The cables are looping through a 4-40 stud which gets threaded into a clevis. Thanks! |

You should also have a crush tube in the kit. You feed the cable through the crush tube and then through the stud, then back through the crush tube. Pull it tight so the end loop is about 1/4 inch in diameter. Then loop the remainer back through the tube and crush it down with some pliers. Give the cable a nice tight pull to ensure it will not slip. Hope this helps.

It all depends if you are using steel cable or Kevlar.
I only use Kevlar and with Kevlar, I double loop on the clevis, and run about 2 inches of the two lines an use CA on it, then I run a heat shrink over this, and it has worked for me even on my 52% Edge rudder cable Go here Kevlar tie scroll down to kevlar , I have a drawing Roger

I am using steel cable. What I ended up doing was threading the cable through the crimp, make a loop and bring it back through the crimp. Then take it back over the outside of the crimp and loop it through again and crimp it in place. This seems to lock everything in place and when you tug on the cable there is no slip.
