I had a set of "Non DA mufflers" blow apart on me. Instead of replacing said mufflers, I want to do something a bit different. I am going to install a set of KS1090 tuned pipes in my Ultimate.

I have seen the article on Horizon "Big Pipes, Big Power" but the photos are really small and I can't make out the detail.

Does anyone have detailed pics of a H9 Ultimate with the KS1090's installed?

SuperDave might have pictures as he did a 46% on KS pipes.

Dan Landis has pipes in his H9 Ultimate. Don't know what pipes though.

I never saw canisters mounted like the ones in post #4! That's a real squeeze!

KS 1090 pipe with MTW 50mm drop flex headers. The pipes enter the fuse above the gear plate. I mounted the rudder servos in the tail. Sorry I don't have pictures, I looked at Peter Goldsmith's pictures as a reference.

problem for me with all the pipes - weight and you dont need the extra weight on an ulti!!!!

The nice thing about pipes is the extra power.
Have you thought about running the greves pipes? They are much smaller then the KS 1090's in diameter and weigh 10 oz less per pipe. The KS are 25 oz with headers and the Greves are 15 oz. I also weighed MTW 110's and they weigh 17 oz a piece. So in all reality going with greves saves you 4 oz. I run them in my Comp-arf 260 and turn a 28.5x12 mejzlic 3 blade at 6100 Rpm.

BDSBob, DA sells the Greves pipes. I believe they are $545 a set.

Unfortunately, the DA web site is not very informative regarding their accessories - they don't really provide good pictures and detailed specifications. I would never order anything without seeing it as well as checking the specs.

I need to search the web for more details on the Greves pipes.

They are a bit pricey, but boy do they make a 150 SNORT!!! Super quiet too.
