I think the website for xtremepower does not offer a way to order the product...is it in testing or
just not available yet?

Few moths ago I asked them if there was anything in the near future for larger planes because I wanted to up grade to a JR 9 channel.
They said "no"
Good thing I didn't trust them and waited.

Pretty soon they will have them with more channels as well.

Can a person run two receivers in a plane. Can you buy a receiver separately.

Gotta love progress!

Well, it's a nice step toward the REAL future, but it's not for me. It is still a system that requires me to set my 9303 aside and settle for lesser features and a different feeling transmitter. The REAL future is in plug and play modules for upper-class transmitters THAT PEOPLE ALREADY HAVE! I am happy for those that are flying on 6102's or the like and now have a chance to upgrade, but it saddens me that they didn't have $600-$2000 transmitter owners in mind.
The good news is that the plug and play module revolution is in our near future and will be less than half the cost of this system and you get to keep and use your high-dollar transmitter, but it will not come from SpektrumRC

They are very optimistic about getting it under the X-mas tree for you this year! The system is currently being used/demo-ed on various aircraft by the company. It is really just a matter of red tape and more diverse testing that is keeping off the shelves right now.

I knew it was going to be a "Bait to make you wait" job. Dome season is near and I needa SS radio NOW. My DX6 was lifted by thieves at our field. This one looks nice, but like a few others have said, why bother until the REAL DEAL is released??

Oh, I know, to keep us buying "lower line" products. THe "lowerline Product" spiel was used on me when calling HH for programming questions on the DX6....."you bought a lower line product"......""no, I bought the ONLY product"" .....

So is this the "upper line product" ? Or will lthe same "lower line product" label still appy when getting assistance from HH???

I am on the fence, but painted in to a corner on this one. I need it, but hate to spend the dough on a product that the manufacturer will make excuses for.

Come on Extremepower .......need an investor?????

Just don't through away your good transmitters, a canadian company is coming out with the Spread Spectrum as a replacement module and you get to keep your high end radio.

Its coming.

Again not to be negative because I'm sure its coming some day but most of us won't be satisfied until JR and/or Futaba comes out with a module for the 9-14 channel transmitters. I for one will not buy a unknown company's module and receiver to use in a giant scale airplane.

While I would love to see SS for high end soon, I also don't want to do the beta testing on my airplanes. I'll be patient.

Looks like I'll be dropping Futaba very soon and going JR

Just to be absolutely clear, this is NOT a JR radio. It does use some JR components, but Spectrum radio is a joint venture between Horizon Hobby and Spektrum. Small, but very important difference.

Photos are starting to float around the net of the new JR 12X radio. No idea if it is SS or not, but since it says PCM on it I doubt it. It does appear to have three airplane type programming like the 9303 (airplane/glider/heli).

I don't blame you but when it comes out, it will have been tested and ready for the field, I assure you, I am meeting with them this week end and if I can provide more info I will

Awsome to see this technology coming to us at a rapid pace! I cant wait for the modules to become available for the other TXs soon, but I will wait for them to come from the radio manufactures (JR, Futaba, etc). Too many bad experiences with after-market "upgrade" parts that never seem to work as well as OEM equipment, not worth the risk on an 8K airplane. I think I may have to add this radio to my collection for my foamies and glow birds, I have been waiting for something a little better than the DX6 to come out, and it looks like its here!

Sure look like JR radios to me Judge, just with Spektrum technology added, the DX6 looks like the 6102, and the DX7 sure looks like the 7202... seem to be JR radios to me. I dont find much validity in that comment when they look identical. Look at them both here: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Stores/P...tId=R&CatId=RF

I agree about the aftermarket solutions that are being talked about. One, XPS out of Lake Havasu, AZ, has made all kinds of claims, but to date has only done a public test with a foamy and a 29% electric Giles. Yet the vendor talks like it is already out, available, and well proven.

JR and Futaba need to get on the stick here and get to market with their solutions. It is discouraging that the new 12X is a PCM radio. I would have thought if SS was close at hand that it would have been released in this radio.

Oh well.

I am merely reporting what I was told directly by both Peter Goldsmith and John Diniz of Horizon. I trust that they know what the scoop is. It is true that Spektrum uses JR parts, but JR is NOT Spektrum.
