Great video Paul......thats a sweet looking plane ......
Hope you get to keep your hands in tact long enough to make another flight video.........because if you keep starting planes with out some sort of restraint your flying days are going to come to an end.

I like the 50cc airplanes because they fit in my Explorer without difficulty.

I would say that 50cc is the most popular based on affordability, and ease of transport. You get a lot of bang for the buck.
But, the DA 85 will allow a slightly larger airplane without breaking the bank. If you mount the 85 properly, you can greatly reduce the vibration problems that I hear about. The 85 doesn't like to be cantilevered with long standoffs, spacers and flimsy engine boxes. Mountem' solid and tight. I would say the airplanes specifically designed for the 80-85cc class would be a good bet. |

With a little tongue in cheek- I'm able to get my new 35% Godfrey Laser 200 in my 01' Pathfinder. (shorter than the newer models.) This has made for one very happy modeler!!
Gets a DA 85 in a couple weeks tho a 50cc would probably be plenty - at 13.5 lbs ready to outfit! Robert builds one heck of a nice plane! Legendary actually !http://bobflies.com/ Last edited by jaguar bone; 07-14-2009 at 06:10 AM. |

After going back and forth over the years from 1/4 scale to 40%, I have settled in on 50cc class size planes just because it's a balance of size and ease of transportation in a standard size car. Single servo wings, tail and rudder add to the economy too. Update: Found out that a 35% Carden Edge will fit in the Honda so the 50cc stuff is sold and I've moved up to 100cc 35% stuff....
