I was comparing apples to apples and assuming both were properly designed.

This is just my opinion. I am definitely comparing apples to apples. My 35% TOC Yak ( 27 lbs) flies better than my 37.5% TOC Yak( 36 lbs) in the wind when I 3D only. Standard aerobatics doesn't seem to matter. If you are familiar with the TOC 37.5% Yak it has very large surfaces and wing area and can be like a big kite when trying to hover in 15-20 mph winds. My 41% WH Extra 300 at 38 lbs is the wind King in my fleet, however!!
