Just got my Reactor 3D in the air for 5-6 flights. Wow!! Good job Great Planes. Wing joiner, landing gear, lack of tailwheel were issues with me, but I resolved those with carbon gear from Graphtech from a Mini Katana and a tailwheel from World Models. Used wheel pants from my Mini Inspire. Put some black stripes on bottom for side recognition. Does everything you want it too and then some. Pattern like on low rates, click up to 3D rates and have a blast. Recoveries are no drama. Will do tailbiting avalanches, KE with very little coupling and hardly any rudder input. Flattens right out in inverted spins and pinwheels down. Transitions well with a little wing rock in the upright harrier, solid inverted harrier. Probably need to fine tune CG. Used a Torque 2830/1095,CC25,Hyperion 3s 1200 20c, 11 x 4.7SF and HS-65HBs. 24.8oz AUW. Landings are smooooth and slows down with out dropping a wingtip. That thinner airfoil is the ticket as my friend and I had our doubts as to how well it would fly. Hope the larger .60 sized one flies as well. Torque rolls down the runway are a hoot! Will do a wild maneuver during an avalanche if you give it some rudder it will tumble in all axis' and pop out nice as you please! Don't have a name for that one yet! My friend who flies much better than me and has a 35% plane wants one now! Be prepared to hand over your transmitter to your buddies! A natural born tumbler.

looks like they're using the same hardware as their "FlatOut" planes.......looks iffy

Wasn't thrilled with the Mattel looking plastic parts you get with this, but they do provide carbon rods and unbelievably the "hardware" works OK. Had to CA the pushrod connectors as I don't think the set screws are going to hold the carbon rod in place during 3D high jinx. The servo arms are a lot longer than stock ones and the horns are surprisingly stiff. Go figure. I was also skeptical about the airfoil but I enjoyed being proven wrong in this case. I'm sure you could substitute some better quality hardware, but time will tell how it holds up. One things for sure, the airframe is a lot sturdier than my Mini Inspire. Haven't had to wick CA into any cracked joints yet. The MI is a great flyer but the R3D in my opinion is a better constructed plane. Doesn't have that "don't grab it too hard" feel. I'm sure once more of these are built and flown, the positive feedback will start rolling in about the great 3D flight characteristics.

Will try to shoot some video soon. Also look out if you darken the canopy. I took the plane off the cradle that it was on upside down to show someone and left it upright in the sun and the canopy deformed! Booo! Will have to order another one when they are in stock. Beware the sun!

Cool, I'm building one right now. It's my first plane, I've only done helis before so it will be a nice relaxing aircraft between 3D heli flights

.

I do like the striping on the bottom side of the wing and elevator, I think I will do that to mine with some trim tape.
