Hey guys,
I am wanting to build a 3D Batix Diablo or Extra 330 for this years JR Indoor Electric Flight Festival, and I was wondering which plane you think flies the best for precision and 3D (leaning more towards the 3D side). Also, what are some good sites to get white 3mm & 6mm depron foam? rcfoam.com is out of stock and so is depronusa.com . . . The 3D Batix foamy plans can be found here Thanks Guys!! Seth Arnold

I have build and flown the Extra from 3dBatix its a good 3d foamie.... The Diablo havent I flown but have seen some on the net that had a blast with that plane. Before I buildt the Extra i have the Foamee and I must say its a better plane than the Extra, faster rollrate, better in hover and a plane that I liked to have more fun with...I know its two different plane but if You had the time once, try it out!!

I find the diablo has better knife-edge qualities, less mixing, but other than that they're very similar flying planes.

Are the flight characteristics the same if I build the plane with all 6mm depron instead of 6mm on everything except the horizontal fuse/stabs? If there are differences what are they?
What ever plane you guys chose is what I will build!! Thanks Again!! Seth

Seth,
I just built the Extra 330 a little bit ago. I used all 6mm depron that I purchased at my LHS. The only web sites I know of to buy depron is the sites you mentioned but were out of stock. I do agree with chrisbchips that the plane does require some knife edge mixing but nothing drastic. Good luck with your choice.

Hmm, foam sites....
I think Midwest has 3mm and 6mm sheets of foam, but they're thin sheets, so you have to buy a few bags. Each bag has I believe 2 sheets of foam, so it should be enough for making a smaller foamy.
