DA 150 Mejzlik 30x12 MTW 110 K cans turning 6350 on a 70 degree F day. The 30x12 is a fairly quiet prop, and right now it is my favorite prop as far as 2 blades go.

well, I kind of had a hunch I should be trning more RPM's, I think I will proceede to leaning the engine out until I hit at least 6100 RPM and see how she behaves in the air.
Cant wait to see the difference in performance! Does anybody have a clue on how far th eneedles are adjusted on there engine? |

Fuel quality and air density/moisture control rpm remember not the needles alone, all the engine can do is convert the crap going into it...

Your rpms do seem a little low, but there are a lot of factors that can effect that. Mike Darr |

6100 RPM on DA150 with Mejzlik 30x12 prop with MTW Flex Headers and KS 95 cans at 75 degrees in the Houston area. Could lean out about 100 RPM more at peak but this is where I run it to keep head temps down which goes between 180 and 195 degrees.

I think we can all agree that the Mej 30x12 is less load than the 32x10?

My last tach reading was in July and it was 5960 rpm with the 30x12.
Outside temp was 106. The head temp was 190 on the left cylinder and 20X on the right. MTW rear exit cans. |

All things equal, a Mezjlick will turn faster then a Menz.
Also when it comes to RPM, a lot of europeans will turn the same engine slower because of more loaded props for noise reason. So RPM is just a starting point but not the last word on performance. Just my 2 (cdn) cents Roger
