I put one of the DLE canister kits on my 35RA in a 71 Slick. Running a 20x6 Hover prop from Valley View, lots of power, turning 7,100 on the ground. Very good transition, from idle to full throttle. I never ran the stock exhaust, just built the Slick with a new 35RA and the canister, so I don't have a comparison. Be careful with the Steel header the tubing is very thin. If you use a hose clamp you can crush the header.

7100 seem really low for a 20x6 prop
I get 8000 to 8100 on a 20x6 and 8200-8300 on a 19x8 zoar
but I am at about out 1000 foot above sea level. are you at a higher elevation.?

I am at 730 feet above sea level. I need to try some other props on this 35, I got 12 ten minute flights on it now. I did put a Bowman ring before running it the first time. What brand of 20x6 are you running? This Hover 20x6 has great vertial, it will hover the slick at 1/4 throttle peaks. Man at 8300 that prop must really be popping ?

you're still breaking yours in. Took me about 5 gallons or so to get mine fully broken in.

I used the zoar 19 3da prop for breakin 8300 rpm no popping [and a zoar 20x6 sword I am trying now. 2 gallon through it and no bowman ring either. all stock sthil oil 93octane gas.

you have to be running pretty rich yet.

I had a guy at my club set my engine from the first tank.

used a tach started engine warmed up maxed throttle it was at 8500rmp max on 19x3da prop
backed off 200rpm by richening it up . richened up on the low end a little and I never had to touch it for 2 gallons. changed prop to 20x6 -8100 right off the bat

had my plug cap go bad don't know how it happened but I wasn't getting good contact with the plug. was causing interferance so I have to get a new one.

Yea it falls off rpm if I lean it any further at this point. I've just got to put time in flying and the some gallons thru it. Has anyone got any tips on using the eye on the crankcase for a manual choke? I ran a 2-56 rod with an "L" at the cowl edge, with a plastic ball link at the choke. It lasted 5 flights and broke at the crankcase. Prop is balance and engine is running smooth. I ran another 2-56 just past the crankcase eye and extend it with a Golden-Rod inner rod to the edge of the cowl. Just looking for a better setup?

I heard back from ValleyView. DLE has asked all vendors to stop selling the Cans/headers becuase the headers are breaking. I was told DLE is addressing this issue. No ETA on when new and improved headers will be ready.

Well mine broke today after 15 flights, crack right where the pipe meets the flange. I got it from Valley View, will call them Monday to see what can be done.
