I think the toc/am will still be 18+ lbs
For what it's worth, I've flown the aeroworks and it didn't feel highly loaded. |

I have an AM yak that is just barely over 18 pounds with an Evolution 58 on it, and my yak is built stock. If I had a DA 50 on there it would be about a pound lighter, simply from the lighter engine alone.

I've seen three AW Yak's... all well over 17 lbs. Pretty heavy, all with DA50i.
I have my QQ Yak down to 16 lbs even... very nice! Try the Airwild Extra 260... my next plane... Under 15 lbs possible! |

Also best bang for the BUCK...
The $300+ KMP edge available on Ebay... mine with a DA 50, Fromeco 4800 on rec, 2400 on ign, 6 V regs, and 5945's all around with a 5955 on the rudder came in at 15.3 lbs... Talk about a floater!!

I Have a 30% AM/toc yak at 16.8 lbs, I'll tell you one of the best flying yak (50cc) I have ever seen, also the qq is really good and lighter and both in my opinion much better planes than the Aeroworks Yak.

My dad's AW Yak is just a bit over 16lbs. It has a DA50r for power and JR8611a's all around. It is rock solid in 3D and it's great practice plane for IMAC also.

Did not realize the AM yaks were that light. No wonder you guys love em'. I would pick one for sure over the aeroworks even if it weighed the same as one. The construction of the gear plate area on the aeroworks is a little weak to me.

If you're a YAK maniac... the new 86" QQ 50cc is due out in Jan.-Feb. Reza says it's a full pound lighter, more wing area, and just about everything has been improved to some degree. Reza posted pictures of the prototype HERE. The QQ's are a bit more expensive, but if you check the hardware that comes stock, upgrades you usually pay dearly for are included like CF wing tubes and high-quality giant scale control parts. If I don't yard sale my 85" by the time they are available, I'm definitly getting one to replace this tired weather-beaten jewel. If I do need a plane before QQ get's it out, I'll buy an AirWild 260... seen it fly and it is an amazing nimble floater.

My BME is under 17lbs.with a DA50 and a canister muffler.More wing area then both the AM and the QQ.Also bigger span then the QQ. The AM do fly very well though. I know the company is restructuring now. Hope you can still get parts for it.

It comes with all the goodies too like the CF wing, tail tubes, tailwheel bracket, pushrods. The main gear is really strong fiberglass,in the scale shape of the full size. Nice hardware package with machined aluminum control horns.. It took me a little while to get past the color scheme, but it shows up nice in the air. Later, Frank
