Default AM Planes

Most of you know the turmoil with Aviation Models and change to TOC Xtreme. There are some great deals being offered on these planes by many dealers. Unfortunately, if these dealers are not listed as authorized on the new TOC Xtreme website they will not support the warranty or technical assistance. I am looking at the 30% Yak from a dealer not listed on the website. Should I be concerned about this purchase? Anyone have any problems with recent purchases from dealers other than directly from AM?

Thats what Im afraid of, I see some great deals at Chiefs site but what happens down the road if somethin' goes bad of I need replacement parts?
When is the new company going to be up and running? I see Gene at TroyBuilt is advertising 8 versions comming in November.....any truth to that ? It would be nice to see a preview of some new schemes they have planned for there Yaks.

There is alot that happened at the end of aviation models that cannot be discussed for legal reasons. Just know that what is curently available through distributors other than Troybuilt will not be covered under warenty by Toc-Extreme.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been told "in about a month" since the closing. According to the TBM site they are supposed to have planes coming in November. My question is are the planes only arriving at TBM or will there be a TOCxtreme business by then? To be honest I've been a repeat customer since TOC1 and currently own several of their planes, some of which I need parts for. I don't understand what's going on but my patience is wearing thin.

The new planes will be coming. The name will not be TOC-Extreme but something else. Things are shipped and the finial details are getting worked out. Everything will come online at once and be released at once. That is all that I will announce until the day comes.

The only downside to ordering one of their planes from a non-suported distributer is the possibility of one of them being damaged when it gets to your door.

So what if you crush the cowl? Why would the company replace it for free?

All you would have to worry about is maybe some odd structural problem like the wings of the 37% Yak but that is probably a 2$ chance of happening.

I have ordered 2 different planes from them but I shure wouldnt hesitate to buy one from a different distributor.

Hey..wait a minute. i don't get something here. I have been an avid A M fan for quite sometime and have a 33% yak and a 30% yak. the 30% was just bought from Cheif not more than a few days ago. These planes we're sold to chief when AM was still all together and running smoothly............right? So if i understand this right , and even though cheif not only supported and sold AM aircraft and parts , if you buy from them....you'll be srewed............is that right? if that is true , then all i can say is that since i DON'T visit the AM site and DIDN'T know about "if you don't buy from an authorized dealer"........you will never get any service from AM?? That is the worst bussiness decision i think i have ever heard in this hobby!! because AM has internal problems , all us loyal AM flyer's are gonna get screwed over , because two of the owner's are having a lover's quarell???

IF......it only goes for "warranty" issues alone , then i would be ok with that , since i have never sent an airplane back because of a "warranty" type issue. If i bought my Yak from cheif , and told them that my cowl was broken into two parts when i got it , they would just send me a new one. But if they didn't have it.......and I HAD to buy it from AM , i could probably live with that too..........although i would be a little upset about it. BUT........you guys are saying.......if i buy a yak from Cheif , i can't even BUY parts for it from AM?? This is the question i would like to get answered. And garret , i know your one of the bigwigs with AM , so it might not hurt you to chime in a little here and at least tell us "AVID AM FLYER's" group what we might be able to expect.

I still beleive in the AM aircraft , otherwise it wouldn't bother me so badly , but i'll be DAMNED , i'll ever buy another AM product again if they turn there backs on us "previous AM yak owner's" !!

Why wouldnt you be able to buy parts from them directly? Im sure if you needed a set of wings in a specific color scheme that was no longer offered, Im sure you could get them. I highly doubt that anyone would refuse selling something to someone because they bought the original plane somewhere else. Thats like a parts dept at a car dealer saying they wont sell you the parts because you bought your car at another dealer... no likely to happen.

Jeff, its not that the new company wont support the products. We just won’t warranty what Chief has in there stock because they bought these planes as they were stolen from us by our Accountant. Chief knew they were stolen from us but went ahead and bought them anyways for cheap. That is why you see the low prices, planes, and parts he never stocked. Our other dealer TBM was offered a deal as well but they have way more integrity and knew what the right thing to do.
Garrett
p.s. We will more than likely offer the Russian Thunder scheme under our brand so people can still get parts. We just wont "Warranty" the parts from Chief.

Relax Jeff, Cheif's bought their current stock "after" the problems and were advised not to do so for legal reasons, so AM had a disclaimer saying they would not support unauthorized dealers parts and warrenties for this reason, Cheif saw an oppertunity to make a buck buying the current stock, and IMO didn't back AM, thats the short story of it.
But if you need parts in the future, I wouldn't worry to much about it.
And things should be back on track in the next few weeks.

There's other things coming but Garrett will tell everyone when it's up and going,....looks good!!

Chuck

I really don't know if I can agreed with you, it does not matter where they came from, they still are aviation models planes and you guys should cover for that warranty. it is a shame that chief would do something like that but I am not in a possition to judge the either. All I know is that we as a customer do not have any fault on this and it shouln't be us paying for the consecuenses.
it is still your product no matter where I bought from.

Caurimare, I understand your thoughts and if there are problems that are product defaults that will be covered because we are all about the customers. But Cheif came and picked up these plane on his own so we cant tell if these planes were broken in there shipping or what. The customer is not going to loose out on this deal. The new company will start back up fresh and still be there for everyone.
Garrett
p.s. I am done posting until we release the new company and products.
