Well, it's not exactly a 42%, USRA legal Formula One but it's just too cool to overlook. Apparently, US giant scale air racing coverage has been a hit in Japan but they can't logistically support such racing in their country at this time. So they have started developing a class in which they race 0.70ci 4-stoke versions! And a brand new kit that Kyosho is releasing soon is a carbon copy of one of Tom Easterday's USRA Kelly F-1d! Even the paint job is similar.
Check out the link to this cool plane here. Now we can all buzz around at our home fields with a racer.......or better yet, RACE! |

The Kyosho link above is sometimes slow so here's a look at their Kelly F-1d ARF.

Sweet little plane! Looks fun. Does anybody in the US distribute this stuff? I saw both sizes of the Flip 3D on that website.

That is super Cool. KSJ makes a couple F1 planes that size as well. I saw them at www.advantagehobby.com but they don't seem to be on their site.

I have a prototype and took it to Parker. It was very well recieved. I could have sold 3 dozen of them! They should be here by December.

Who is going to sell them here Tom, Kyosho?
What motor did you have in the one in Parker. There is a shot of the little one with a bigger one in the wrap-up photos. |

I definately have to have one of these! I've be consumed by it since first sight. I'll be putting big E-power in it however. I only play with that wet stuff at the races! I think it will make a good practice plane for the club field.

Here's the pic that "Rcplane" is talking about (nice one Michael, as are all of the ones you've uploaded so far - WE WANT MORE!). The "big" one is a USRA F1-GT of Tom Easterday's that was raced by a Japanese flier at the Parker, AZ event. The smaller one is the Kyosho version for a 70cc 4-stroke. This little thing is awesone and would be perfect (and different) to fly at the field! And an electric one would be great Leiserf!

AHA!!! I think smaller ARF racers are going to be good for the racing community. Inexpensive ARS's with easily accessable engines are way cool, especially when they look like airplanes. The biggest obstacle is getting nationwide rules with everyone playing from the same sheet of music. BRAVO!! How much are those rascals?
