Have the dates for the 2007 TAS been scheduled yet? I know this may be a bit early, but I am scheduling vacation for 2007 and want to make sure that I have off.

I know the guys in Tucson don't like to talk about the contest for 90 days after. So check back then.

Dave and Michael give it about 30 days before they start talking about the possibility of the next Shootout.
All of us that devote a huge amount of time to making the Shootout happen, need some time to relax and refresh after the contest. So it well be a few months before we know what the plans are for the next Shootout. You can be sure that when we have it figured out, that we will make announcements on all the usual forums that the scale aerobatic pilots hang out at. I can understand the needed break. There is a huge amount of time and effort put in to make the TAS such a awesome event. I wasn't sure how long they waited before they scheduled the next year's event. I just want to make sure I get the time off from work to make the trip for the whole week next year. THANKS!

Yes, that is for sure. We needed to pull the dates forward for several reasons, two of which are:
1) Several of our Invitational pilots will also be competing in the F3A Pattern Worlds in Europe in November 2007. We wish to give them an opportunity to be able to fly in the Shootout and also get the appropriate amount of practice in after the Shootout for the F3A Worlds. 2) We also wanted to de-conflict from the USRA Worlds (Giant Scale Air Racing) in Parker, AZ. Several of our Invitational pilots also compete in that event. There are many of us spectators that are also interested in attending the F3A Worlds and the USRA Championships, along with the Shootout. Anna,
Do you know if the point system will stay the same and a possible cutoff date? |
