Default Extremelink 2.4 technology discussion

We have started testing 40%+ Composite ARF planes with our XtremeLink system. We are putting up the videos right now.

Jim....That's some very exciting technology you guys are testing. I've been to your website, is there any kind of timeline as far as testing, certifying, manufacturing, and marketing?

Best of Luck to you and your company!

Guys and Gals,

Both Jim and Scott are doing there absolute best to get this 2.4Ghz to the market safely and affordable for us modelers. Being Jim and Scott's neighbor and friend, I have had the Honor of being the Test Pilot for the Giant Scale end of it. With total success in demonstrating the system, even with sub par flying skills this system is Solid, Sound, Safe and just Amazing!

But still realizing it needs to be put in the hands of the public to see what and how it will be used and abused.

I just want to thank the Flying Giants crowd for embracing this Technology and not criticizing it like people have done on some of the Other Sites! Positive, Open Minded people are what will make this system and Hobby a great place to be!

More flying of it will continue daily, until they are ready for delivery...please have Patience as this kinda thing takes time

Being skeptical is only natural, asking questions is fine, understanding it completely is for the few who want to learn this technology. I will not claim to be an expert of this stuff, just the guy moving the sticks

I'm glad the guys are doing this in the right way... only way to know if your product is solid is to flight test it.
Computer data, and lab studies can tell you a lot... but once an item is in the field its a whole new story!

Can't wait for this to hit the market!

Enjoyed the video. Looks promising, but I don't think I could fly without an antenna in my line of site.

Looks VERY promising, can hardly wait till it's on the market, this hobby has needed something like this for a long time.
When I first saw the video, I saw Darcy taking off without his antenna extended, that looked kinda weird but I liked the look too.
Congrats for your innovation so far, keep it up!!

Any speculation on a release date?...or at least an educated guess?

Chuck

My edumackated guess would be as soon as they get plastic, maybe January? Its hard for me to say because I really dont know what the boys are up against. I do know they are Full Time on it so when it is ready you can be assured its done right!

Maybe he should contact FUTABA and see if his system will fit into their enclosures??

I'd be on the list for this thing if he was taking preorders!
I, too, will not be able to get over the missing antenna - it balances my transmitter. I wonder if one could still have a dummy antenna installed and extended without causing interference??????
