So it really depends on whether you are imbedding the rudder horn in the rudder or going with a screww type through a hard point in the rudder. If you ar egoing with a hard point I woudl recommend Nelson 10-32 hard ware - its the strongest in that size.

The 40% and 37.5% AM Yaks work just fine that way. Also Quique runs a Dubro 8-32 Bolt style on the 40% Bype Yak rudder also.. its actually pretty common on 40%ers!!!
Of course there needs to be hard point to drill through... http://sd-model.com/images/Yak%2037_...20r5_12_28.pdf Ronster Last edited by rdgood; 11-05-2006 at 11:26 PM. |

Dennis,
Yeah I agree that the double truss would probably be the strongest way to go. Some of the giant arfs are already covered and its kinda difficult to design around it to get a dbl truss style in there. HAve you seen Darcy Wingo flip his 37.5% around he has 10-32 hardware on his rudder - made me a believer... Ronster
