Here is a Spit I have in progress on the bench. It 'was' a TF kit, but got modded quite a bit after I bought a set of scale plans from Paul Monforton. I need to get back to finishing it!

Default Hawker Hurricane

Just finished my latest Quick Build Kit. It is a 1/8 scale Hawker Hurricane. This one is electric, but it also be gas powered.

Maidened it this weekend. Here are a couple of videos of the maiden and a link to the spec page.

Let me know what you think.

Man great looking plane sweetpea! What is the wingspan and other particulars?

Hey btw, I'm e mailing you a sneak peek of my custom Liberty Laser pilot. Thought you might dig it!?

xtaflyr - That is one BA looking P40 too! You know they painted them this way to psyche out those Japanese superstitions- not because it was cool looking. That kit captures this element nicely!

I guess I should read up on the plane that I'm building, because I wasn't aware of the superstition.

I got to work on it a little lastnight, but all the LHS around me are closed today! The shark mouth is hand painted on the cowl and looks very nice.

Top Flight Giant P-47 Kit

Wingspan: 85 in (2160 mm)
Wing Area: 1327 inē (85.6 dmē)
Weight: 20-22 lb (9-10 kg) ( Mine is probably closer to 30lbs though)
Wing Loading: 34.7-38.2 oz/ftē (106-117 g/dmē)
Fuselage Length: 75.5 in (1915 mm)
Requires: 2.1-2.8 cu in (34.5-45 cc) glow or 2.5-4.2 cu in (41-70 cc) gasoline engine; 6-channel radio with 10 servos (7 high-torque and 3 standard); main and tailwheel retracts

I had it built by my professional builder in Vegas to the ARC stage. I then fiberglassed it myself and did all the detail work. Like rivets, panel lines, weathering. I did the paint myself as well. Its Klass Kote paint with the dull part B with extra dulling agent.

Newest addition to the fleet - Marine Corps PBJ-1 test flown by Bill Hempel. Lots of bullet holes - flack damage and giant gaping holes in the wing and fuse. Lots of drag, lots of lost lift and during test flight the left engine sours due to bad airflow over carb.

Test Pilot Bill Hempel expertly adjust rudder and flys it anyway - this is why getting the best is worth the effort. If you need a pilot = http://www.billhempel.com

See the video;
