This is me and my 1/3 balsa usa sopwith pup that as built over 25 years ago! i got it used and im flying it, yes it's ten years older than me! lol
 in th background is my dad's 1/3 balsa usa sopwith pup. we fly in formation at NE warbird meets

Here is a video of my Vickers Vernon - these WWI era aircraft were best known for breaking long distance records - my plan was to fly this one across the country - In 2007 the first flight was held at the Joe Nall fly in at Grenville SC and In November 2010 it completed a flight at the Wings Over Chino fly-In at PVMC in Chino CA. The aircraft flew several missions along the way to include fly-in's at Albuquerque NM, Phoenix AZ, Tucson AZ and a mile high near Denver CO along the way. below is video posted by spectators along the way.
These were long range heavy bombers / transports used throughout the empire - several were sold to China and most were used in the Middle East - the first coordinated bombings of civilian populated areas was conducted using Vernon's over the Tigris river on heavily defended cities such as Baghdad Iraq during the "Interwar Years" before WWII. What they learned from those missions was applied by Bomber Harris on a large scale on the Germans in WWII.
