Thanks for your comments guys. This project was certainly full of challenges and more I was hearing the words kind of like,"you are wasting your time and money with that thing" or "this thing will never fly" or "it will never take off, having the nose so high she'll be doing doughnuts instead", more I was determined to prove them wrong. So it became an obssesion and the original idea to build a warbird was lost somewhere in the clouds. Since I'm more into aerobatics she is having a rest at the moment. Here is one more pic from final.

There are definately some great looking warbirds out there. Although I'm more into aerobatics, I just had to build my favorite warbird. It's been a 4 year build with a bunch of other planes built during that time. Wanted to take my time on this one. It's built mostly stock with a few add-ons for realism. Took me over a month just to get the gear doors working in sync with the gear. A few other mods along the way. It's been a long but, enjoyable build. Hasn't flown yet, gotta re-install some electronics and she'll be ready for a maiden. Given the weather here, it'll be next spring.
Any way, here are a few pics. Cheers, Dave |

I've been reading a book on Corsairs & the British would cut 8" off each wingtip so they would fit on the British carriers. The decks were re-inforced, so the standard Corsair wouldn't fit.
There's also a great page in there about a guy that just had to have his ice-cream & got the guys working on it. They would fly at 30,000 feet with a 5 gallon tub under each wing. There was a prop on the front of each to run the stirrer inside. They would cruise over enemy islands so the guys below could waste shells trying to hit them & come back with 10 gallons of chocolate ice-cream each day. One pilot thought he would be killed after exceeding 200 knots on the descent and ripping off both ice-cream makers. Funny! |

Hells yeah baby!!!!
Here is my T-34 that I was going to sell, decided to keep it just to see how it flies. It started as a Top Flite kit with the scale interior and Robart retracts. Power is a Super Tiger 2300 with a modified muffler and Hitec 5625's throughout. |

Rappy, very true, the Brittish did chop the wings so to say. I'm not planning on entering any "Scale" contests with this bird do I didn't bother.
I should've mentioned that this is the TopFlite GS kit and isn't really "scale" in outline. Close but, not really. Lots of areas where they've made changes to make it a better flying model. G-62 on the nose, JR servos throughout, Robart retracts and paint by a good friend of mine. Cheers, Dave |

Here's my new fun machine. I put "Medusa Research" brushless motors in there & it is a blast to fly around. This is the original 50 size fans & it has almost 1 to 1 thrust on a 3 cell 1320mah LiPo pack. Yeah!
