Hi Guys. I have 35% Aeroworks 260 and a Hangar 9 Ultimate.
I can't friggen decide which one to fly from one day to the next. It's a royal pain I tell you!

I also say buy both. I know that sounds crazy but I did and boy am I glad I did. I agree with what has been said about the bipes. They truly are show stoppers, especially with smoke and they can carry a bit of extra weight without even noticing.

Get the bipe and you will not look back.

I owned a AW 35% 260......it took a dirt nap. Great flying plane though.

I've flown the PAU ultimate......loved every second of the flights. I now own one, but its still in the box awaiting my move this summer before recovering and flying.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I like the ease of a mono to put together and for IMAC.....but a bipe doing 3-D or flying with smoke or just flying around is a sight that draws attention!

How long flight times do you get with 32 oz fuel? Also, how long can I expect on 32 oz of smoke oil? Could I get by with 24 oz for smoke oil? Again, this is my first 100 cc endeaver & first try at smoke. Any help greatly appreciated- thanks.

Use soda bottles, then you can use 32 or 48 oz. for either and it will be LIGHTER....

I agree ULTI's are cool, But what you have to realize is that Chip's plane was heavily massaged for lighter weight(ie. holes in control surfaces etc.) I had a 50cc Aeroworks Ulti and it flew like crap, it hated to be inverted, snapped out of inv. man. I fought that bird for a full year with lots of help, I finally kicked it to the curb. Just flyin @ CJ style , it was a pussy cat for sure. I would like to try QQ's new Python though....

I seen the Ultimate fly, it's a great plane and and at the price of 649.00 I don't think you can go wrong. After learning to fly many years ago I built an Ultimate and flew it for a long time until it meet it's demise (gravity won). I like mono planes, Yaks, Extras, ect., but the Ultimate is the show stopper hands down, if doing 3d or just sport flying. In the hands of an experienced pilot everyone just stays on the sidelines!! I guess I just have a thing for the Ultimate, although the AW Extra 260 is an excellent plane you can't go wrong with either one. I have two AW Yaks the QB series, they are great planes.

I am going to ad my .02 and say that if you love biplanes the PAU is the way to go. I just got mine yesturday and what a awesome plane. I have built alot of ARFs and this is the best one i have seen coming out of the box. The only thing wrong was the canopy got crunched, but they allready have a new one in the mail. That is customer service! With other companys I have had to send them the bad part before I could get a new one. I love these guys at PAU!

Wrong!!!!!!

Steve Rojecki and I went on to win the T.O.C. in 1984 with my Reed Falcon bipe and Tony F. won the Masters with my Fyg Leaf pattern bipe later on.

I'm out of the hobby now, but really enjoyed the commentary here.

Best of luck to all of you.
