Damn Wayne, you should be thanking Walt not the other way around. Walt you've got mad skills my man !!!!

On a side note I just got a 3'x7' piece of granite from one of the local counter top guys for $100. If any of you are looking for a good building surface check with the local guys, they have tons of scrap pieces that you can pick up pretty cheap.

I used 1/64th ply for the cover plates on the firewall. No more than it takes it probably weighs what it would take to cover it. This won't ever come off. I've have used covering to do this but I like to polyurathane the entire motorbox and leave it looking like wood. Its just a preference thing and it looks clean to me done this way. The motorbox sides will be sealed from the inside with 1/32 balsa sheet for the canister tunnel and it also will be coated with polyurathane, inside the tunnel..Lots of options here, this is just the way I like to do it..Walt

I have a couple of slabs from old pool tables. Ask around and find someone who repairs pool tables. You can usually get a set pretty cheap because they are basically worthless to the repair guy and he has to find a way to dispose of them.

Hey Paul..

Not really. They are still tanks with everything hacked out.
We are just getting rid of dead weight.

Mike McConnville and Ivan Kristensen are really the first guys to do this to a Carden a while back.
We are just copying whats been working.
My 260 was built exactly the same way as this 300 and there isnt any issues with it at all. Its right at 5 pounds lighter than my Carden 330 I flew last year.
If you didnt see it, there are pics here of my 260 build that Walt did.
