Default Sebart KatanaS 30E

My wife bought me this plane for my birthday. It's my first electric and need some advice about the motor options. The manual calls for either the Hacker A30-12l or the A30-14L motor. Which one is better? Any other choices in motors that are equal to or better then these for around the same price? Also which 40 amp controller should I get? The manual recommends the hacker X40 controller. Thanks

As far as motor choice. I would go with what they recommend, The difference between the 2 motors is RPM per Volt. So the 14L will spin slower but use a bigger prop. I'm sure Seba has done a lot of testing on motors and the 12L is what he likes. As far as speed controller I have been using the X40 with pretty good luck.

Well before the wife crashed it into a tree I got 2 flights on the plane. The Hacker A30-14L motor is not for this plane. No power available to hover with a 14 x 7 or 13 x 6 prop. Vertical was about 50ft before it stopped climbing.
