Special Thanks to Mr. Huntsinger! Kent and his dad showed great hospitality! Ty Lyman, Dave Micheal, and Pete Castine delivered tons of knowledge and experience to 15 starved pilots.(Not hungry for food, The Flying Wood Butchers Buffet was plenty filling). Donuts and pastries with good coffee! Kent sprang for lunch, the grill was fired and Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs were served. I was really impressed with the progress of the beginning IMAC pilots by the end of the day. Despite the cold weather the Frozen Toes Northern IMAC Boot Camp Day one is complete without incident. Looking forward to SlowHucks pictures! Stay tuned for day 2.

Kent P., thanks for calling for me on my second sequence today. That helped me a lot.
Also, thanks to Ty, Dave and Pete for helping all of us who are just starting the straight line stuff. Today was very educational to say the least. And thanks to Kent H. and Jerry for letting us use the field to fly, these guys are great hosts. I too am looking forward to flying tomorrow, even in the wind. See you guys at the field. I want to thank Mr. Huntsinger, Dave, Pete, Josh, Ty, and everyone that helped put this together. It would have been worth paying $50 for the opprotunity to learn and fellowship this weekend allowed, but it was FREE! I look forward to doing this again.

Thanks Slowhuck for a very nice wrap-up and photo spread. Well, it was a wee bit on the chilly side, but we had a good turnout and I think (I hope) everyone was able to go home having learned a bit. A big thanks again to FWB senior and his bearded young-un for allowing us to invade their private aerodome for the weekend. Additionally, kudos to Pete and Dave, I couldn't have pulled it off without their help. Finally, all the guys who braved the temperature and snow flurries to come out an learn a bit about this IMAC thing or to improve their skills . . . it was your weekend and you guys made it a success. Hope to see everyone at a contest this summer.

Ok guys I made it home and I have to say I had LOTS AND LOTS of fun. I don't think i can thank everyone enough for the southern hospitality... Special thanks to Mr. Huntsinger, who was gracious enough to allow me to park my temp home in his yard. Thanks to Ty and Dave for providing much needed information... Pete, and Kent ("the other one") Thanks for calling for me. You both taught me a lot about calling and hopefully I can put that to good use this year. Kent ("flyin woodbutcher") for the super super southern hospitality and reminding me this all for fun. Thanks to Bat Fastard for helping with my plane ("it's money now"(northern style) "d*** on" (southern style)) and some very interesting conversations. Remember guys you have to come up and let you show you all some northern hospitality (I am not sure i can top this weekend but i give it a shot")... Thanks again to all and hope i see ya all soon.
OH one last thing.... This barn is awesome tons and tons of planes....... all shapes and sizes OHH forgot and how could I Slowhuck thanks for the pics..... Rodney Last edited by rmothers; 02-18-2007 at 10:04 PM. |
