An end of year "boot camp would be neat, we could all see how each of us has progressed throughout the season.
Ty, how to make it better - Hooters girls as callers ! Ehh.. better not....Seriously it was so informative as an IMAC newbie I don't know what else I could have asked for, maybe by the end of the season some of us may have some suggestions.
I wanted to get a picture of the barn Sat. night, it would have been definitely one of a kind. Not knowing exactly where I put the camera I was going to do it Sunday morning, but most of the planes were already out.
For the guys who missed it, the first room of the barn (a large room at that) was filled wingtip to wingtip with 50cc and above planes. A rough calculation was that we were looking at somewhere around $30K plus of planes.

Yup... that sure sounds like the "money" shot. And I missed it. I even had an 18mm lens that would've been purfect. But alas... my batteries were fading, my ears and toes had had enough of the cold and I wanted to get home to see what the days shooting had yielded.

I promise that I will stay for that shot at the "Season Close North SE IMAC Workshop," provided that the temps are more within my operating range. A requisite night foamy fly-in would be another great photo-op.

You heard the man (Mr. H), Big Jerry's RC Airport is available. Ty: start the thread, I just gave you the title. Who knows the schedule? When's the last contest? Where did my lense cap go?

Hi guys: Kent and Jamie and I would love to host a contest or a boot camp, any time. We can re-route the road in front of the flying field and be good-to-go. Jamie can swipe some potties from a job-site. He’s good at that sort of thing.

I plowed and replanted the fields last fall, so by summer they will be firm, regardless of rain. So plenty of room for campers, motor homes and sleeping bags. Generators all night no problem. Power at the barn. Ashland motels are 3 miles away.

A pig roast. Night flying. Pre-dawn flying. I’ll have my Senior Telemaster finished and we can drop a guinea from 500 feet.

I think a lot of flyers in this area would be interested in participating and/or observing a contest. And I wonder if a contest can be combined with a boot camp and coaching? Kent, for example, needs someone to tell him that you don’t do a death-slide to set up for a spin.

Ya gotta love this guy. Shhhhh! Nobody say anything outside this thread. Don't want a three mile traffic jam out the driveway.

If you guys are serious about doing a contest there, I'll do the AMA paperwork for it (get the sanction) and do the admin stuff (judges, scoring). There are holes in the SE IMAC schedule; we could pick a weekend in the following:

April 21
May 5
June 23
June 30
July 14
July 21
Any weekend in August except 25 & 26th
Any time after Oct 7

Just let me know how we can make it happen...

Oh, and Kent P has to bring the Karaoke!!

Pete

How about the one in May? If it all goes well we can do one in the fall as well.
