The older 30% Yaks have a wider spacing for the landing gear bolts, the newer Yaks also have a different tunnel (wider) and you can mount the gear easier.

Thanks for the response. I spoke to SD and they told me the design has not changed so I am a little confused.

You can see the difference here The first picture is the newer one and you can see the bolts tru the tunnel, second picture is the older one, smsller square tunnel bolts have to be installed from the inside of the fuse, wider appart.

I have owned both airplanes and I am currently flying the Aviation Models Extra 260. The Yak is an awesome airplane and flies like its on rails. I had a KS 86 canister in the Yak and the airplane came out to be 18 lbs on the dot. The Extra I decided to make it a simpler model so I went with a Slimline Pitts muffler. The Extra 260 came in at 15.05 lbs. They are both great flying models you won't go wrong with either one. The Extra 260 is basically the same size as the Yak. I think both do IMAC incredibly well and both 3d very well.

Freya,
I see the difference. They changed the design and the guy that sold me did not know about it. Anyway, it is going back. I guess I have to go with graphtech then. Azhar |

The YAK is an awesome 3D plane but if you want to fly IMAC precision go with the Extra.
